With 20 years of experience in hospitality sales, consulting and product management, Akina is in charge of expanding and managing all aspect of the global business for handy’s in the hospitality industry. Akina was previously the VP of Strategy & Global Business Development at FCS Computer Systems, which provides system integration consulting and software solutions in big data applications and hotel operations. A respected guest speaker, panel specialist and guest professor, Akina has been active in sharing her industry experience at forums and institutions. Her notable media appearances include being interviewed by Donald Trump Jr. on Bloomberg and Fox in 2015. Akina holds an EMBA from the University of Southern California.


Andrew Dixon

Andrew was born in Australia but has lived in Singapore for more than 12 years and has over 25 years of banking and investment experience. Andrew is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and has Masters and Bachelor degrees in Economics. He is one of the founders of private island developments in Indonesia, Nikoi Island (www.nikoi.com) and Cempedak Island and through this project he has developed a fascination with the natural environment and sustainable tourism.


Bianca Loo

Sales Director Asia Pacific, Sojern

Bianca Loo is Sojern's Sales Director of APAC, driving growth in the hospitality and tourism sectors. She has 10 years of experience in the travel space that spans the agency, client and publisher sides of digital advertising that have been instrumental to the development of Sojern's APAC operations. She joined the team in 2014 as the founding member and has helped Sojern penetrate APAC at a phenomenal rate.

Bianca joined Sojern from travel meta- search firm Wego where she was in charge of strategically assembling their tech stack, including bringing on incremental revenue from regional travel brands. Previous to Wego she had stints in companies like Discovery Channel, Possible Worldwide as well as Singapore Airlines.


Blanca Menchaca

Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, BeMyGuest

In her role as Chief Operating Officer, Blanca is responsible for managing a highly multicultural Asian operation with teams spread out across Singapore, Philippines, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam Malaysia and currently expanding to India.

Prior to BeMyGuest, Blanca was the Global Head of Online Marketing at Wego (www.wego.com), another successful Asian travel company. She helped the company build teams across Singapore, Indonesia, India and Middle East.

Blanca was born in Mexico but has gained most of her travel and e-commerce experience abroad, with 6 years in Australia and 8 years in Asia so far. She has been referred to by the industry as “the face of a new global travel generation”.


Boon Kwee Lim

Chief Operating Officer, Dusit International

As COO of Dusit International, Boon Kwee is the key executive in charge of Dusit's global hotel business unit with 26 properties in operation and more than 40 properties in the pipeline. He holds the overall responsibility for business generation, profitability, operation, owner relationship and talent development for the entire hotel company with subsidiary offices in China, Dubai and India.

Boon Kwee is a professional global hotelier with wide ranging experiences, having been with other hospitality brands such as Millennium & Corpthorne, New World Hospitality (now Rosewood Hospitality), Shang-ri La, IHG, Starwood, Sedona and Raffles Hotel. 


Charlie Osmond

Chief Tease, Triptease

Charlie started his first business, FreshMinds, after studying at Oxford University. Whilst building this business, he was named UK Young Entrepreneur of the Year by Esquire and profiled in Seth Godin’s bestselling book Icarus Deception.

Charlie launched Triptease in 2013 to help hotels deliver a better digital experience and increase direct bookings. Triptease pioneered the direct booking movement and quickly gained notoriety for its first product – Price Check.

In 2015, the firm was awarded Innovation of the Year at PhocusWright Europe, and Charlie was named in HSMAI’s list of 25 Extraordinary Minds in Hospitality Sales & Marketing. Charlie is a keen sailor and runner, finishing second in the Death Valley marathon.


Colman Ho

Prior to joining Century City Holdings as VP – Group Marketing, Colman was a serial entrepreneur in PRC specializing in media, entertainment and travel industries. His  battlefield proven methodology in sales and marketing spanning different geographic region and industries helped companies he founded expand rapidly and became top 3 players in their different fields, achieving over Rmb 180 million revenue per annum, and industry record breaking profit.

Colman is overseeing marketing functions of the Group, with 5 listed companies including one of the largest domestic hotel group in Hong Kong, Regal Hotel International.   He is married with one kid and just moved back to Hong Kong last year after residing in Beijing for 16 years.


Dan Lynn

Dan previously led the HomeAway Asia Pacific business, including Stayz.com.au in Australia. Prior to this, Dan was the founding CEO of AirAsia-Expedia joint venture, and spent many years with Expedia, leading its Asia Pacific business, global search marketing, and strategy and analytics.

Dan is originally from Cornwall in the U.K., where he first decided that rather than be a fisherman or farmer, he’d go into the other local industry of hoteling.


Debrah Pascoe

Senior Vice President, Commercial, ONYX Hospitality Group

As Senior Vice President, Commercial, at ONYX Hospitality Group, Debrah oversees all of the Group’s commercial business units including sales, marketing, e-commerce, CRM and loyalty, communications, brand, revenue management and customer information systems.

Debrah has more than 20 years of experience in marketing, business development and hotel openings with a proven track record in achieving results through innovative marketing and management techniques.  

Prior to joining ONYX Hospitality Group in 2012, Debrah held a variety of senior sales and marketing roles at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts over a period of 10 years, with assignments in Indonesia, Malaysia, Fiji, Oman, Thailand and Singapore. She was also the opening Director of Sales & Marketing at Palazzo Versace in Queensland, Australia.


Eric Gnock Fah

Eric Gnock Fah is the co-founder of Klook Travel, Asia’s leading platform or travellers to explore and book a curated selection of activities. 

Prior to founding Klook Travel, Eric worked in hedge fund and Investment Banking at Morgan Stanley, focused on consumer and travel companies in Asia. Originally from Mauritius, an exotic travel destination, Eric grew up speaking 7 languages and is a cultural explorer at heart. 


Fritz Demopoulos

CEO, Queen’s Road Capital

In 2005 Frederick “Fritz” Demopoulos co-founded and was the CEO of Qunar. Qunar was acquired by Baidu in 2011.

Fritz also co-founded and was the CEO of Shawei. Shawei was acquired by Tom.com in 2000.

Fritz held senior management positions at various online and traditional media companies in China including Netease, Hai Run Media Group and News Corporation.

Fritz currently coordinates his personal investment and entrepreneurial activities through Queen’s Road Capital.

A native of Los Angeles, Fritz was educated at UCLA, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Karls-Ruprecht University in Heidelberg. He has lectured on entrepreneurship and the Chinese Internet at Stanford, Harvard, UCLA, Tsinghua, Beijing University, Singapore Management University and the Communist Party College in Nanjing.

Giovanni Angelini has a wealth of experiences of over 50 years acquired in 3 continents, particularly in Asia.

A former executive and CEO of the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts Group for over 19 years. Also an Executive and Senior Vice President Asia-Pacific of Westin Hotels and Resorts for 13 years plus associated with a member of Prestigious Hotels in North & Central America and Europe. Founder and Chairman (2010) of the Angelini Hospitality consultancy firm in Travel & Tourism activities based in Hong Kong.

Presently on the Board of Directors of several public listed hotel companies. Also on the Board of Quality Assessment Organizations and Education. He is also the recipient of several highly acclaimed industry awards.


Hai Zhuang

President, Tujia Holdings

Hai graduated from Tsinghua University in 1997, BS of Electrical Engineering and from Case Western Reserve University in 2000, MS of Electrical Engineering.

He worked for Microsoft Redmond from 2000 to 2008, as a software development engineer and development manager. He then worked for Microsoft Beijing from 2008 to 2011 as a senior software development manager.

In 2011, he joined Tujia.com as engineering director, and moved up the ranks from Vice President, to Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Since November 2016, he has been President of Tujia Holdings.


Hichame Assi

CEO, HotelsCombined

Hichame Assi is CEO of HotelsCombined, the world’s leading hotel comparison platform. He joined the HotelsCombined team in 2010, bringing over 15 years of experience in ecommerce and online travel across Europe, the Middle East and APAC to the Sydney-based start-up. Now a multinational with a lean team of 130 high-performers, Hichame has led HotelsCombined through its journey from start-up to scale-up and continues to lead the company’s growth and global expansion. 
 
Hichame has an MSc in Ecommerce from the University of London, and in his spare time can invariably be found reading about the fields of Open & Social Innovation, mentoring entrepreneurs in MENA and negotiating with his six year old son.


Jason Pang

Director of Innovation & Technology, Hotel ICON

Jason joined Hotel ICON in 2011 and is in charge of Technology & Innovation to direct, plan and implement the hospitality technology into the hotel. 

Jason was previously the project manager of Infrasys International Limited, leading the project team, executing project work and delivering on hospitality IT solutions to major hotel groups and restaurant groups. Jason has more than 15 years of experience in hospitality IT, including a stint as IT manager for nine years in Aberdeen Marina Club, a membership club in Hong Kong managed by Shangri-La International Hotel Management Limited.


Jeff Hurst

Chief Commercial Officer, HomeAway

Jeff Hurst serves as HomeAway’s Chief Commercial Officer where he oversees strategy and growth businesses, including business development, global revenue, e-commerce initiatives and HomeAway’s activities in Asia Pacific.

Hurst joined HomeAway in 2010 as the global director of strategy and planning and assisted the company in completing a successful IPO in 2011. In 2012, he led HomeAway’s commerce initiatives as the global VP of e-commerce where he was responsible for enabling secure payments across the HomeAway sites and implementing online booking for travellers and commission-based pricing for owners.

Prior to HomeAway, Hurst was a consultant at McKinsey & Company where he worked with consumer brands on corporate strategy, M&A and pricing. Hurst has an MBA from Standard and a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas.


Jennifer Cronin

President, Marco Polo Hotels

Jennifer Cronin was appointed President of Marco Polo Hotels in February 2016 after serving as Vice President Sales & Marketing from 2014.   Her initial remit was to launch the new luxury hotel brand, Niccolo and open the first of the luxury portfolio, Niccolo Chengdu in 2015.  

 Jennifer graduated with a Doctorate of Philosophy in 2016 from Bond University based on her PhD research, titled “Empowering Readiness; influencing crisis management success outcomes”.

She is dedicated to spearheading new initiatives and strategic developments where her transformative leadership vision will further strengthen the Marco Polo and Niccolo brands as the portfolios expand.


John Toomey

Vice President, sales & distribution, Asia Pacific, Marriott International Inc.

John Toomey is the vice president, sales & distribution, Asia Pacific for Marriott International and is responsible for the sales and distribution across all geographies in Asia Pacific.

John is a 20-year veteran with Marriott International, including 17 years based in Asia Pacific. Those years saw him in various roles in California and Mumbai. In 2012, took the position of vice president, global sales, Asia Pacific with responsibility for 15 offices across the continent.  John most recently held the position of vice president, sales, Asia Pacific before accepting his current position in October 2016.

John holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University and currently resides in Hong Kong with his wife and son and serves on the board of the Incentive, Conference & Exhibition Society, Asia Pacific.


Kei Shibata

CEO, Venture Republic

Kei co-founded Venture Republic Inc. As CEO, he took the company public in 2008 after 7 years of operation. Over the last 13 years, Kei has built the various online vertical media including “Travel.jp,” “Hotel.jp,” and “coneco.net” (online comparison shopping engine). 

Kei also serves as an active investor and board member of various startups including Telunjuk (Indonesia) and Trip101 (Singapore). 

With his extensive knowledge of online travel, e-commerce and his strong entrepreneurship, Kei is responsible for driving the company by shaping its strategy, making commercialization efforts and building organization.

Previously, Kei worked at Mitsubishi Corporation for 11 years,  playing a key role in company’s largest M&A deal to acquire the Lawson Inc., one of the largest convenience store chains in Japan. 

Kei received a BA of Law from Keio University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. 


Kittisak (Kitt) Pattamasaevi

Kittisak (Kitt) Pattamasaevi serves as Chief Commercial Officer for Montara Hospitality Group, which owns and manages Trisara, a luxury beach resort in Phuket.

Outside of work, Kitt serves as a director of Niyom Pattamasaevi Foundation, which sponsors scholarships and supports rural elementary schools in Northern Thailand.

Kitt received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 2013.


Lorraine Sileo

Senior Vice President, Research, Phocuswright

Lorraine Sileo launched the research division of Phocuswright Inc. in 1998. She is quoted frequently in consumer and trade media and has authored numerous publications (including Phocuswright's U.S. Online Travel Overview reports). Lorraine has testified at hearings held by the National Commission to Ensure Consumer Information and Choice in the Airline Industry, charged by Congress to examine the impact of online distribution on the travel industry. She was previously an adjunct professor at New York University's Graduate Center for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management. She has analyzed the business and consumer electronics marketplace for various publications and media companies for over 20 years.


Lucy Werner

Lucy Werner leads the export sales team at Google Hong Kong. Prior to joining Google, Lucy led Kenshoo's sales efforts across Asia Pacific. 
 
Before Kenshoo, Lucy was COO at Spruce Media, a Facebook Preferred Marketing Developer where she built and managed the firm's business operations including sales, marketing, business development and communications. Additionally, she served as VP of Sales and Business Development for adBrite for 5 years and built adBrite into the largest independent ad exchange. 
 
Lucy has also spent time in finance at JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch and Deloitte and Touche in Africa Europe and the USA. She graduated from the University of Cape Town, South Africa with a Bachelor of Commerce and CPA certification and received an M.B.A from Harvard Business School. 


Maria Taylor

Maria is a 30-year veteran in the Hotel space, three years with Meritus Hotels and 20 years with Accor Hotels & Resorts where she held the role of VP direct sales and distribution for Asia Pacific.


Marisa Sukosol Nunbhakdi

The family-owned Sukosol Hotels operates five uniquely designed properties in the heart of Bangkok and Pattaya.

In the last four years, the group opened two new hotels; The Siam in Bangkok, a multi award-winning urban retreat on the river, and Wave Hotel in Pattaya, a beachfront, Miami-Art-Deco-inspired boutique resort.

Marisa is also an ambassador for several charities and the chairperson of environment for the Thai Hotels Association, working to promote sustainable operations in hotels. For her exceptional work implementing sustainable practices at Sukosol Hotels, Marisa was named one of the “Outstanding Women Business Leaders for Green Growth” by The Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Associations of Thailand and USAID in 2015.


Markland Blaiklock

Markland Blaiklock is managing director of NH Hotel Group China and chief executive officer of Beijing NH Grand China Hotel Management Company Limited, a joint venture between HNA Hospitality and NH Hotel Group.

Mieke De Schepper

Vice President, APAC, Expedia Lodging Partner Services

Mieke De Schepper is responsible for the hotel relationships to support the various brands under Expedia Inc.

Most recently Mieke was Managing Director of Philips Lighting Singapore, Myanmar, Brunei and other frontier markets. She started her career at Philips in the Video & Multimedia Applications business group to develop the global marketing strategy for the home theatre, DVD and Blu-ray categories, where she developed the successful Ambisound SoundBar. In 2009, Mieke was appointed Senior Director of Consumer Lighting Marketing and Sales in Philips Lighting, Asia Pacific region, where she created a Philips-branded retail network in Asia Pacific.

Before joining Philips, Mieke was a consultant in McKinsey & Company, based in Europe.

Mieke is the President of the Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Singapore.


Morris Sim

Morris Sim is CEO and Co-founder of Circos Brand Karma. Circos' consultancy services help hoteliers sell more rooms and F&B covers directly, and its training services help hoteliers learn how to utilise digital marketing to maximise revenue.

As Senior Director of Marketing at Microsoft, Morris developed communities and social networks from 2002-2005 to improve Microsoft’s brand perceptions and market share worldwide. Before that, he was CTO of PoloRalphLauren.com , the first e-commerce site from a major design/retail shop. Morris also serves as the Executive Director for Trisara and Boathouse on Kata Beach, both independent luxury resorts in Phuket, Thailand.  

Morris is a graduate of Stanford University.

Patrick Sin

Prashant Kirtane

Prashant Kirtane is HomeAway’s Vice President, Emerging Markets, leading the development and operations of the company across Asia and other emerging markets. 

Prior to joining HomeAway, Kirtane was the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Travelmob, one of Asia’s pioneer social marketplace for booking accommodation and room rentals, during which time he was instrumental in the evolution of the company’s local market positioning before it was acquired by HomeAway in 2015. 

An experienced and well-respected leader in his field, Kirtane spent 12 years in various roles at Yahoo! Inc. where led the development of game-changing mobile solutions and technical platforms for the company. In his last role as the Senior Director of Engineering for Yahoo!’s video division, he was instrumental in leading a team of over 40 engineers in a global revamp of consumer video experiences. Kirtane started his career in India at Tata Infotech.


Puneet Mahindroo

In a career spanning 15 years in the hospitality industry Puneet Mahindroo has worked in various hotel and regional level roles in Revenue Management and Distribution. Puneet has been responsible for implementing a wide range of projects including Automated Revenue Management System, Revenue Leadership Training Programs, Pricing Reforms and Next Generation Distribution Platforms.

Puneet holds a Bachelor’s Degree In Hospitality Management from Indian Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad and has done a further specialization in Strategic Hospitality Management from University of Huddersfield, UK along with a Diploma in Hospitality Management from American Hotel and Motel Association, USA. Puneet is passionate about education and has been an external faculty of Revenue Management to business schools.

In his role with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Puneet is responsible for leading the development of Revenue Management and Distribution initiatives for the Asia Pacific region. 


Robin Kwok

Country Manager, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Airbnb

In her role, Robin oversees the business and drives market strategy for this part of Asia, and works cross-functionally with many teams to manage Airbnb’s local operations.

Robin joined Airbnb from Intuit, a FinTech company, where she managed sales operations and strategy initiatives for the company’s core business groups out of Silicon Valley, with a major focus on Intuit's international expansion to the APAC & EMEA regions. Prior to Intuit, Robin worked at a management consulting firm (The Alexander Group) in San Francisco where she helped technology and media companies find ways to grow and scale their businesses. Early in her career, she spent much of her time managing key customer accounts in Taiwan, China, and Singapore for Applied Materials (semiconductor & solar technology), and lived in China for one year to help with the company's expansion in 2007.

Robin studied Electrical Engineering at Purdue University and International Business at Columbia University & UC Berkeley. Robin is from the U.S., with a family background from Taiwan & Hong Kong. She currently lives in Singapore.


Roland Yau

Steven’s career spans over 20 years across airlines and consultancies, primarily in senior commercial roles in LCCs. Having worked across the world with start-ups, turnarounds and established leading airlines, Steven’s specialist areas include sales and distribution, revenue management, ancillary revenue, e-commerce and commercial strategy.

Steven graduated with dual Bachelor Degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of Queensland.


Symon Bridle

Symon Bridle joined Rosewood Hotels & Resorts in 2009 following 18 years with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts where he held senior corporate management positions in development and operations divisions, including a role as COO. He also held several general manager posts at leading Shangri-La hotels. Mr. Bridle previously worked with Southern Sun Hotels and Westin Hotels in South Africa and in luxury hotels in Switzerland and Bermuda. He began his hotel industry career in 1980.


Terence Fong

Terence recently joined Hotel ICON as digital marketing manager who oversees digital advertising and web analytics. Prior to joining Hotel ICON, Terence worked in Hyatt Regency. Terence has also worked in agencies and publishers, managing regional campaigns for luxury brands and properties.

Terence holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Systems from City University of Hong Kong. He is also a certified professional of Google Analytics and Google Adwords.


Wesley Tang

Wesley has always been involved with start-ups in some form or another. He has lived and studied and worked in Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Atlanta, and has a diverse network of friends and colleagues spanning three continents. His speciality lies in lead generation and in the scaling of businesses through digital channels.

Wesley is currently the GM of Chope HK, the lead Southeast Asia player for online restaurant reservations. There, he overseas restaurant and user acquisition, channel partnerships and P&L. Previously, he held a role as Head of Marketing HK at foodpanda, the lead Southeast Asia player for food delivery.


Widhadh Waheed

Widhadh Waheed is the Director of e-Business globally at Shangri-La, driving online bookings and awareness for the brand. Prior to joining Shangri-La, she co-founded and sold multiple digital media companies, most recently a question and answer based social network that reached more than seventy million people worldwide since inception. Prior to that, her advertising agency, where she served as CEO, helped Fortune 500 companies and fuelled more than 1.5 billion dollars in acquisition value.


Yeoh Siew Hoon

Managing Director & Founder, WIT

Yeoh Siew Hoon is the founder of WIT, launching it in Singapore in 2005 and going on to launch WIT editions across Asia Pacific. In 2016, WIT Europe made its debut in London, days after the Brexit vote.

WIT has won several awards including Most Innovative Marketing Initiative and Trade Conference Of The Year from the Singapore Tourism Board and in 2014, Siew Hoon was recognised Tourism Entrepreneur of The Year. A journalist by profession and passion, she’s also a speaker and facilitator at events around the world.  
She’s also a published author of titles such as “Around Asia In One Hour: Tales of Condoms, Chillies & Curries” and children’s books such as “Adventures of Habibie The Turtle” and “The Story of Baitong and Boon”.
